The Shell

I was walking on the beach the other day and a shell caught my eye. It sparkled in the waves as they washed back and forth on the sand. It’s inhabitant gone. It had served it’s original purpose. Yet, it put an extra bit of beauty in my day! And I am thankful.

That shell is one of millions on beaches all around the world. And we could easily think – what does it matter? But I can tell you that it mattered to me that day!

Maybe you have believed that you are only one of billions that have lived on this planet! What do you matter?

Just like the original inhabitant of that shell – you may never know!

You see that man over there? That woman? That child? What will you leave behind?
